Summer Action 2015: RRF supports local Kindergartens and clubs

Reflective vests for Kindergarteners of Oberhausen:

The RRF supports the initiative of the road patrol of Oberhausen to equip the Kindergartener and pre-schoolers with reflective vests.

In this context the RRF donates reflective vests to Kindergarteners of the city.

Especially in the coming up autumn and winter the children on there future way to school should be seen much better by the eye of every traffic participant. 25 boys and girls received a radiant coloured reflective vest.

The garment equipped with reflectors on the front, back and sides will let the way to kindergarten and school safer.

 

DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop e. V. got a Defibrillator:

adlerunionThe RRF participates on the purchase of a defibrillator for the DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop e. V. on the sports facility “Frintroper Wasserturm”.

World wide 84 pro footballers died during the last 5 years by the sudden cardiac death on the football pitch.

A first step to reduce this number is the enlightenment. Because of that recently they are advanced educations to raise the participants awareness for this topic and teach them how to act in emergency.

Additionally a practical instruction on the defibrillator ensued. So the participants become – on one hand helper and on the other hand multiplicator to share the knowledge in the club – important persons in the fight against the sudden cardiac death.

The team of RRF is happy to support that the purchase in such a big club is an important step to minimize the risk and helps the athletes to feel more comfortable and safe on the football pitch.

Diplom-Ingenieur Sven Müller is leader of testing, monitoring and certification body

Our head of testing laboratory Mr. Sven Müller now is also head of testing, monitoring and certification body according to LBO authorized by Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik. In this context on 1st of January 2015 he is assigned to an expert witness in the committee of DIBt. The first meeting of the committee was on 24th of March 2015, where our former head of testing laboratory and deputy of the expert witness committee Mr. Jürgen Rosenfeld has been retired.

Therefore Jürgen Rosenfeld completely retired out of our company. He was 22 years head of testing laboratory and worked for 34 years in our company. His specialized competence has been held in great esteem by colleagues and customers. As well we will miss him humanly and as a colleague.

We will thank him for many years of engagement and wish him all the best for his future!

Important information about fireplaces for ethanol fuel and decorative oil lamps

Fireplaces for ethanol prospectively have to pass a test according to DIN 4734-1. As we expect more test orders, we increased our testing capacities.

 

Since January 2003 decorative oil lamps are subjected to a mandatory testing according to DIN EN 14059. The manufacturer, who places the fireplace on the market, is obliged to have the test carried out. Our testing capacities were also increased for this test.

EFA – autumnal event in Salzburg

Twice a year the members of EFA find together to a general meeting. This year the autumnal event took place in Salzburg. The participants looked forward for an interesting program.

Speakers at the first day were:

  • Johannes Kaindlstorfer, representative for „Allianz Freie Wärme“ (Lecture: Dangers and chances of individual heating)
  • Johannes Steiglechner of TÜV Süd (Lecture: EU Nr. 305/2011, hamonized standards as well as notified testing laboratories in the context to fireplaces in Europe)
  • Thomas Sommeregger of agency elements.at New Media Solutions GmbH (Lecture: The digital consumer, his status quo and trends of the industry in online-marketing)

The main topic of the second day was the general meeting:

  • Welcome the new member of EFA e. V. – Dracholin GmbH from Metzingen
  • Discussion of usual agenda
  • diverse reports about European guidelines and standards
    • for example CEO Dr. Heinrich Göddeke (Lecture: latest stand to standards TC 295 of roomsealed fireplaces, LOT 15 and 20, EU Nr. 305/2011, hight of chimneys above the roof)

 

The next general meeting is spring 2015 in wider area of Würzburg on March of 18 and 19.

New trainee for the project „comparing measurements of methods for particle measurements”

BeReal-Meeting in Frankfurt

On 07 April 2014, the first WP 2 Meeting took place in Frankfurt after the kick-off meeting held in the fall of last year in Straubing.

The aim of the project is to develop a method for describing the operational behavior of fireplace and pellet stoves under real conditions. The responsible presented the first sets of results of the field trials and evaluated the first statistics of the online questionnaire.

The online questionnaire is an important part of the project. We would be happy if you support the project by participating in the online survey.

EFA – spring meeting in Olsberg

On March 26 and 27 members of the European fireplaces Association (EFA, Europäische Feuerstätten Arbeitsgemeinschaft) came together for the annual spring meeting in Olsberg in the Sauerland. The well attended event took place in the information and demonstration center Renewable Energy (I.D.E.E., Erneuerbare Energien), which is offered the ideal venue for the EFA as a central point for information on the topics of wood, solar and renewable energy sources.

The focus of the event were several lectures to the topic of wood firing.

Speakers at the event were:

  • Dr. rer. nat. Ingo Hartmann of DBFZ Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gGmbH (Lecture: emissions of biomass-small combustion)
  • Ivo Kastl made ​​by Schräder Abgastechnologie (demonstration: Particulate measurement with fine dust filter)

Other items on the agenda:

  • the Ecodesign Directive with the future energy labeling of heating systems
  • a presentation to the topic “Energy Wood – A scarce resource?”
  • the results of the EuP Directive, Lot 1 and 2, and the latest new to Lot 15 and 20
